I would like to thank God for allowing me to review a lot of positive and uplifting albums to help people understand that positive God glorifying entertainment is absolutely brilliant and more awesome than you think. I would like to tell you this album is amazing and ''The Good Life'' is my favorite Trip Lee album. I am so pleased with the quality of this album. It is creative and exciting and it totally glorify's God all the way through. This album challenges us to do a re-think about what the good life is. We live in a culture that has sent us a wrong message about the good life. The media is lying to us when it tells us that the good life is about getting famous and making a name for yourself.
There is too much celebrity worship going on in this world and it is reflected on TV, Radio and trashy magazines that do nothing but promote gossip. People, gossip is very dangerous and it is playing with fire. when you gossip about other people, you make them look bad and it seperates close friends. It is like what the Stereophonics said on one of their songs, It only takes one match, to burn a thousand trees. Do yourselves a favour and stop gossiping right now. I hate gossip and I totally detest pornography. I refuse to compromise who God made me to be and I will not sell my soul for the fame and fortune. Celebrity life and celebrity worship is absolutely horrifying and vicious. That is not my idea of a good life, God forbid it.
To the mainstream music industries. Stop exploiting other artist and quit treating them like puppets on a string. Corruption ends right here, right now.
''Robot'' is one of the songs on this album and it is a refection of how we were manipulated by the sinful nature that wants it's own way. If you are sick and tired of the old life and of living in sin, this song is for you. You can alway rap along to the chorus of this song.
Know Me (Word) contains a sample of Harold Melvin and the Bluenotes: You Make Me Feel So Good and it talks about getting the know about the Bible which is the Word Of God.
''I'm Good'' reminds us that we all go through trials and tribulations and that we may suffer for our faith. This song is featuring one of the most inspiring Rap Artists Lecrae.
ILove talks about how technology can control us and how it can distract us from God and also from true community. Today, online communications including Facebook and Mobile Phones have replaced community and social communications.
One of my favorite mainstream artists Paul Weller wrote a song called Wake Up The Nation and it contains the lyrics and it will hit you. Get your face out the Facebook and turn off your phone.
It's not that facebook and mobile phones are wrong in and of themselves but they can distract us from social community. The Jam wrote a song called ''Start'' and it was written in the early 80's and it is also about our need to communicate. People, community is important and we cannot spend our lives in isolation. Please check out a song called ''Don't Try This At Home'' and it is on the lead UB40 singer, Ali Campbell's solo album, Running Free.
Heart Problom remind's us that money, sex, and power are not the problem. It is our sinful hearts that are causing us to abuse these things and use them in the wrong way.
I pray that God will use this album in a powerful way to give us a brand new picture of the good life and wake us up to it's true meaning. Remember. The Bible teaches that the thief comes only to steal, kill and destroy, but Jesus came so that you can have life to the fullest.
