I am going to review this album as a massive fan of Indie/Britpop and a highly dedicated music listener and Moseley Shoals is one of the most amazing albums that you will hear in that era. This album is well crafted and the sound is at a very high quality which is what we really need in music. If you want to create an amazing record that is ahead of its time and that stands out, it takes quite a lot of focus and a lot of patience since songwriting is very hard and you obviously need the right team of individuals you will support you in the album making process. I have listened to Moseley Shoals so many times and it still sounds just as fresh as it was back then and let me tell you, there is so much talent going on in this recording. The vocals are powerful and soaring, quite a lot of emotion going on. The guitar riffs are so off the chart and so incredible. The drumming is very skillful and has quite a lot of rhythm and the Bass guitaring is just as amazing as well.
The producer of this album is Brendan Lynch and he is an absolute genius at producing awesome and explosive sound effects and making the music sound so awesome.
Brendon Lynch has also worked with Paul Weller as well and has done a good few lynch mob productions. You will hear some lynch mob productions on this record, especially on the spine shivering closing track ''Get Away''. The song starts of quiet and later on it goes in a different dimension and it kicks off to a very explosive ride of your life.
Moseley Shoals opens up with a classic britpop track ''The Riverboat Song'', with its catchy guitar riffs and awesome singing. I think the whole thing is incredible. I quite like the high quality sound effects as well.
Ocean Colour Scene have pushed the creative boundaries and taken some musical risks on this record and they have put so much effort on the 12 songs. Without the production genius of brendan Lynch, Moseley Shoals wouldn't have as explosive and mindblowing as it is. The album is just so adventurous and so stunning that i am never going to stop enjoying this album.
Moseley Shoals is one of my favorite albums of all times and i will hopefully keep on listening to this record for years to come. There are loads of other albums and other music that i like and i will keep on exploring but at the end of the day, I will always enjoy this album for what it is.
The reason i am reviewing this album is to help new bands and artists be more creative in their music.
